Laura+Bob Instead of Bob+Laura

Gosh, all that discussion was deafening! We now have a new mayor pro tem, the old mayor pro tem before being selected mayor two years ago.Maybe a sign of things to come, roving quorums and all.

  1. They could have had a little more respect for the Mayoral election and swore Ms. Maczka in as a Mayor instead of a council person. I think they told Noah right then and there she was the Mayor. We’ll check the tape tomorrow.

So much for discussion about mayor pro-tem… surely Dunn dispelt any rumors about Dunn. Maybe they don’t have meetings but exchange notes.

Mr. Omar was as gracious as ever.

  2. Yes, Amir was very gracious as always. He, his vision, intellect and passion will be greatly missed. Very impressed by the many diverse supporters of his that showed up tonight.....Lots of kind words and a standing O for a well deserving man.

  3. So you jokers got what you wanted. Mayor pro tem in open session. All you guys succeeded in doing was pushing it into a roving quorum. A bunch of Einsteins...

    1. I like your conclusion that "success" is "pushing it into a roving quorum" bit. It confirms for me the first response of your crew is to do something illegal. Slimeball, corrupt mentality you (and they) have.

So our choice is a secret meeting or a roving quorum? Is that what you're saying?

    3. OK Nimrod,
You have a pretty shallow imagination if this is the extent of your intellect and can't think of anything else that needs fixing around here. Aside from the absence of public reason presented for "electing" Bobby 1 finger, there are countless scurrilous activities perpetrated by the city hall gang to the detriment of the average citizen. Denying, attempting to downplay or ignore it doesn't make it disappear. Our real choice here is between good and evil. We're choosing good. You?

  4. Think exec session would have been better for ya? Roving quorums are nothing new.

  5. May 20 at 8:55pm MAYOR PRO-TEM

It makes no difference whether it was in public or private, Chuck Eisemann is still the new MAYOR OF RICHARDSON.

  6. OK I was a Laura supporter but I am stunned to see that she has no more strength from her mandate than to bring along retread Townsend. Really? Can we do anything in Richardson with people under 80? Is this what she wanted? Or was she unable to bring anyone along to vote differently? Of course they voted unanimously so I guess they are OK with it. Why did we even bother with all of this? $200K and they changed seats. Remind me not to expect much out of this bunch. Whoopee another 2 years of doing nothing.

    1. Pretty much confirms the crony set up here, right?

    2. Why are you stunned? I'm stunned that you voted for Laura and expected something different. It's the same council minus Amir.

  7. Another 2 years of doing nothing is ok with me, the less done the better.
Did anyone notice that even before Laura completed her sentance asking for discussion or nomination Dunn had already raised his hand to nominate Twosend. ESP and crystal balls? Or roving quorums? Same old same old.

  8. Yea, with one finger in the air, Bob Townsend once again gives it to the citizens. Did anybody really think he wasn't lying (again) when he said he wasn't going to run? Coalitionist Party pressure must have been too much to bear. Laura hasn't finished her indoctrination.

  9. And once again they swore to uphold, protect and the fend the Constitution of the United States and of this state. Texas.

Now who spoke out so strongly opposed to the Texas Constitutional right to vote directly for Mayor?

Lets hope they will be very mindful of that oath taken last night and what comes out in the future.

  10. Anon 3:30,
Why should today be any different? It's going to take a revolution to free ourselves from this slavery.

  11. In previous elections, it seemed the "executive session" to "select" the mayor and mayor pro tem
took about 30 to 40 minutes.

Without "selecting" a mayor,it took only a minute to minute and a half for Dunn to raise his hand and move the ex-mayor should be mayor pro tem, have the motion seconded, and voted on unanamously - without ANY DISCUSSION - smacks of an already agreed upon action. Unanimity at all costs. Why should that be a surprise?

  12. it might have seemed like smooth sailing on the mayor pro tem, but it was anything but! they could not decide. solomon wanted it so bad he could taste it but just couldn't get the votes. the rest were in about the same spot. townsend once again got the position because he was the only one who could get four votes. it was kind of like the mississippi river, all is calm on the surface, but just beneath the surface it is a wild ride.

  13. Anon 2:22pm,

Just when did all that dialog take place? At the REAL place stuff like that is supposed to take plae 2.2 seconds and it was over, prematurely....

  14. There must have been one hell of a secret whisper campaign going on over this Pro-Tem election. Well, Laura calls it an election. (Lawyers call it a "selection" because of the public participation in elections part.) I'm sure this will not be the last confused moment we will witness. Laura is not a very good liar.

Yes, it is telling that nobody spoke up during the official meeting and engaged even a sham public deliberation on the issue before the pre-arranged motion.

If what annon 2:22 is accurate, we have to assume this is a mole who was privy to at least some part of the roving quorum. It is flabbergasting how blatant the violations have become and how casually they put it in our face.

Given the mental midget he is, it is fitting that Dunnce took the lead with his impetuous nomination. I am sort of surprised they didn't all cast their vote with one finger in the air out of respect for their choice and disrespect for the public.
