They could have had a little more respect for the Mayoral election and swore Ms. Maczka in as a Mayor instead of a council person. I think they told Noah right then and there she was the Mayor. We’ll check the tape tomorrow.

OK I was a Laura supporter but I am stunned to see that she has no more strength from her mandate than to bring along retread Townsend. Really? Can we do anything in Richardson with people under 80? Is this what she wanted? Or was she unable to bring anyone along to vote differently? Of course they voted unanimously so I guess they are OK with it. Why did we even bother with all of this? $200K and they changed seats. Remind me not to expect much out of this bunch. Whoopee another 2 years of doing nothing.

Yea, with one finger in the air, Bob Townsend once again gives it to the citizens. Did anybody really think he wasn't lying (again) when he said he wasn't going to run? Coalitionist Party pressure must have been too much to bear. Laura hasn't finished her indoctrination.

In previous elections, it seemed the "executive session" to "select" the mayor and mayor pro tem
ReplyDeletetook about 30 to 40 minutes.
Without "selecting" a mayor,it took only a minute to minute and a half for Dunn to raise his hand and move the ex-mayor should be mayor pro tem, have the motion seconded, and voted on unanamously - without ANY DISCUSSION - smacks of an already agreed upon action. Unanimity at all costs. Why should that be a surprise?
it might have seemed like smooth sailing on the mayor pro tem, but it was anything but! they could not decide. solomon wanted it so bad he could taste it but just couldn't get the votes. the rest were in about the same spot. townsend once again got the position because he was the only one who could get four votes. it was kind of like the mississippi river, all is calm on the surface, but just beneath the surface it is a wild ride.

There must have been one hell of a secret whisper campaign going on over this Pro-Tem election. Well, Laura calls it an election. (Lawyers call it a "selection" because of the public participation in elections part.) I'm sure this will not be the last confused moment we will witness. Laura is not a very good liar.
ReplyDeleteYes, it is telling that nobody spoke up during the official meeting and engaged even a sham public deliberation on the issue before the pre-arranged motion.
If what annon 2:22 is accurate, we have to assume this is a mole who was privy to at least some part of the roving quorum. It is flabbergasting how blatant the violations have become and how casually they put it in our face.
Given the mental midget he is, it is fitting that Dunnce took the lead with his impetuous nomination. I am sort of surprised they didn't all cast their vote with one finger in the air out of respect for their choice and disrespect for the public.
