Things Will Get Worse Before They Get Better

Last night, at the city council work session, reporter Brett Shipp confronted Laura Maczka with emails between her and Mark Jordan that date to pre-December 2013. They were personal emails.

It seems Brett made a request for all emails between Laura and Mark. Apparently many emails were withheld because they were personal rather than business related.

One of the emails appears to be to be talking about the Palisades deal. It appears only half of the email was delivered to Brett, just the part about Palisades. The other part of the email was given to Brett by someone else. That other half contained information about Mark and Laura hooking up at Northpark to “play”.

The process for dealing with the Palisades project appears to be corrupted by the actions of the mayor.

The council should have known about the questionable events long before March 17, 2015, when the conflict of interest forms were signed. At least one council member did know in September, Kendall Hartley. He was told about suspicions of an affair going on back then, just after the Shady’s incident. Questions should have at least been asked from at least that point forward.

From what I gather, this story will run on Thursday Monday @ 10pm on channel 8.

In other bad news for the city leaders, the time line of the Nathan Morgan investigation does not match with the explanation form the city. I would look for a modified explanation since the private investigator was hired before the lawsuit was filed and before the text messages between the former police chief and former city manager took place stating that they had reached another dead end in their pursuit of dirt on Nathan. The lawsuit was not filed until 10/26/2007 and the actions predate the suit by months. When the city attorney’s billing record show communication between them and the private investigator, the witness list had not even been turned over.

  1. I'm not so sure on timeline of news story. Brett's father passed last night.

  2. What is the "Shady's incident"?

  3. There was a melt down at Shady's Burgers between Maczka and some friends about her girls birthday party/trip to Florida and Maczka leaving early to hookup with Jordan in Atlanta. It was a scene. Unbelievable the council claims to know nothing. They must have had their heads buried in the sand to not know. All the neighborhood over here knew.

  4. Should be interesting to compare Shipp's info with that found by the Independent investigator paid by City Council.

    1. My guess, the so called independent investigator will find nothing. The newspaper and tv news crew, they will find something. In typical Richardson fashion, the good old boys of Richardson and the Richardson Coalition will try to sweep this under the rugs. After all, the former mayor did this stuff all the time with no repercussions.

    2. People need to start emailing the Attorney General for help...cjid@texasattorneygeneral.gov....along with the Texas Rangers....de@dps.tex.gov....the people need someone to listen.....the investigator that was hired is a total joke....

  5. Your timeline is completely correct. I personally witnessed last night. I believe this to be evidence that should end the debate over what kind of relationship was present before the vote. All who choose to still side with the mayor are not interested in acknowledging right from wrong.

  6. Tweet from a different blogger was saying "yellow journalism" and "ambushed her on the way to the bathroom!" but did not mention whether the email content or dates were true. An old trick: shift the attention to the reporter's style.

Ain't gonna work this time tho..

    1. That tweet did not include gender. Shipp was apparently talking to other council members.

  7. Here is the tweet by Mark. S, Ambushing public officials on the way to restroom is part of the m.o. of yellow journalism. Brett Shipp is after sensationalism, not truth.

Seems like he is trying to shift the subject to "let us not pay attention to the accusation because the questions were asked in an offensive way. I say the questions have been answered with misrepresentation and deflection away from the truth. That is what matters.

  8. I meant timeline for it airing. I suspect Brett isn't focused on Richardson at the moment

  9. There was no ambush. Period. Had the city and the mayor been honest and forthcoming there would be no need for Brett Shipp to come in the first place. I hear this is going to get much much worse before it gets better. Watch people flee like rats on a sinking ship.

  10. The segment will be on Monday night at 10:00 due to the passing of Brett's father.

  11. And make no mistake City. The enemy is not the citizen. Thank God for the citizens who care enough to insist on reinstating integrity. Council members-you may have been sold out but it wasn't by the citizens. Be clear on who the good guys are.

  12. Brett Shipp is nails...he has already gotten the information he needs. Mayor Mascara needs to hire a criminal defense lawyer asap....and she thought lying to her kiddos and husband was the worst thing she had done.

Wonder how she looks with a cute zebra striped outfit????

    4. What flavor of racist bigot popsicle are you? Looney tunes time again? We can only hope the city's dirtbag legal counsel finally gets nailed for obstructing justice.

  14. Well, maybe they met at Northpark to "play" but we all know it was the residents of Richardson who got screwed....

  15. While Brett Shipp's style may offend some of our "entitled council persons" and other big shots in Richardson, I think that what he's doing is to expose the bulk of the council for the scumbags and crooks that they are. They've been screwing the citizens for years and maybe, just maybe, the chickens have come home to roost on them!

    1. Fingers crossed. Hopefully the story will be reported accurately and at least some part of Richardson's underhanded municipal government practices will be exposed. Then, maybe we could get the attention of a real investigation into the public malfeasance that has been a way of life here.

  16. Shady's is so fitting a metaphor for this mess. The owners and regulars at this establishment are as shady as they come. The back room of the Canyon Creek CC is truly a vipers nest

    1. Wow. Generalize much? Shady's owners and regulars are not involved in this mess. Get a grip. Not everyone in our town has nefarious motives.

    2. Yup, we're the other ones. And, dare I say, we don't patronize smoke filled gin joints where the riff-raff socializes, country clubbers or not.

    1. I agree that not everyone in this town has nefarious motives. It pretty much is limited to the corner office and the city council. The citizens sure don't seem to have nefarious motives. They are just pissed at being screwed over time and again. As for the owners of Shady's, I don't think anyone was trying to imply that had anything to do with this. But I would agree, the name Shady's is a good metaphor for the shady city business goiugn on at city hall. That's my 2 cents.

  18. Shady's has good burgers and if the weather is nice, it's a great place to sit back and relax with friends.

But for a Great burger, give me Del's on McKinney in old Richardson!

  19. She says she had no affiliation with Jordan at the time she voted for his development.

The above is from the 4/2/15 Brett Shipp/WFAA reporting that ran. That is now an outright lie.

She is void of all things most value. She sold out family, kids, friends, constituents and council colleagues. And and her continued defiance shows the true her. Hope it was worth it because the carnage she leaves behind is significant.

  20. I think our Mayor should resign before the election! We all know when she is re-elected she will resign and then the council will have total control in her replacement. This does nothing but put a blight on our city. When are the citizens going to wake up and smell the roses. I am going to vote for RICK WILDER for Place 1. Rick has no ties to anyone and will do a great job.

    ReplyDelete
  21. I would hope that all who oppose this council will vote for Claudia Tatum and Rick Wilder and not vote for the unopposed councilmen. And "we the people" really need to show up at council meetings and express our disapproval of the job they are doing.

  22. Jordan should be investigated.

    1. I think you can count on it. Along with the other councilmen who voted for it, Dan Johnson and Charles Eisemann. That council does NOTHING that those two don't explicitly want to happen.
