An email was sent to me about a referendum in Plano. Here is the link:
On December 9, 2014, the Plano City Council held a public meeting and voted 5-3 to pass, for Plano, a controversial non-discrimination ordinance. Within a few hours, over 1600 email were sent to the Plano City Council members opposing the ordinance. More detail can be found at this link:
Plano doesn't seem to be all that much different from Richardson sometimes. It wasn't long ago that the Richardson Council added 600 apartments near the Canyon and Prairie Creek area. That effort got about 1000 email protesting their action. Not in my backyard, they said.
Maybe the next initiative can be for another group that seems popular, in some areas, animal lovers.
Will just have to wait and see how far this goes.
