It seems one of the spots for Richardson City Council’s
roving quorums, Humperdinks, is going out of business in Richardson. After 22
years, they are shutting their doors.
But in other news, Alamo Draft House is coming in part
because the taxpayers gave it a helping hand. It will open in August.
Kind of makes you wonder about the logic used in Richardson
when it comes to business. The city will hand out your tax dollars to help some
“new” businesses open up, but stiff the business that have been around for a
long time.

ReplyDeleteHumpmadink's lost it's prime customer. It's where Keffler would spend copious amounts of city money conducting roving quorum secret meetings with individual Council members. Now that he and Slagel don't have the company credit card any more, it's not surprising the place went belly up.
ReplyDeleteI have wondered if any City dollars have gone to the Grocery stores -- Tom Thumb on Arapaho, Campbell, Custer, for example. And did the City have the opportunity to do the same for Tom Thumb, Kroger and Albertson's near the Plano Rd / Beltline intersection?
ReplyDeleteAnother bribe needed to offset the dismal economic climate in Richardson. Watch it wither on the vine like all the other economic development follies. There's probably not any longevity tied to the Richardson piggy bank shake. I'll give the ADH a Decade to spend the money trying to make it work, then pull up roots and leave the building vacant.
