Mayoral Forum at City Hall April 24 at 7 PM

Richardson Mayoral Candidates Forum Available on Internet and TV

The League of Women Voters of Richardson will hold a forum featuring the candidates running for Richardson mayor in the May 11 election. The forum will begin at 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 24, in the Grand Hall at the Civic Center. The forum will be streamed live on and broadcast live on the City’s cable TV channel on Time Warner Cable channel 16 and AT&T U-Verse channel 99. Taped replays will be available to view on the City’s website and cable channel. For more information, call 972-470-0584 or visit

  1. Why have a forum? All the questions will be geared to make Omar look bad.

  2. How true. The LWV appears to be stoked with Coalitionist Party loyalists, or at least people who have grown complacent and condoning of their members' behavior.

Substantive questions like, "Do you approve of the Coalitionist's baseless personal attacks and negative campaign rhetoric?" will never hit the airwaves.

  3. Exactly. I don't want to go to a forum anymore if my questions are screened out.

  4. Anon @ 7:23

What is it you don't understand about control?

Why is it that unwritten questions from the floor are not allowed? See question above.

  5. Protest Vote:
Vote Amir Omar for Mayor and no one else.

Do not register a vote for any council member or write some one in.

If no one votes for an unopposed candidate, is it a legitimate election?? If no one votes for someone, how can they claim to have been elected??

  6. Unfortunately, Luke, they will have at least two votes - theirs and their spouses. But it will be interesting to see what the vote totals per incumbent are. It is doubtful that records will be broken.

  7. No reason to vote for anyone else.
