Highland Terrace Forum Video

  1. Townsend reminds me of Dustin Hoffman's portrayal of the character "Mumbles" in the Dick Tracy movie with Warren Beaty. Speaks with a mouth full of marbles and talks about old news to confuse everybody. It's time for him to bow out and retire gracefully.

  2. Wow. Townsend says the reason money is swept from the water fund into the general fund is because the North Texas Municipal Water District needs the money to build new reservoirs. If that's true, and it's not, there would be a record of a huge amount of money set aside for the projects. The truth is, there's no record of where the money derived from overcharging for water service in the City of Richardson goes after it's looted from the water fund and transferred into the city's General Fund.

  3. I like how Townsend complains about the trouble caused by a "new resident every second" yet makes no bones about approving high density apartment communities being erected. When will the people realize that more people cause more problems for the city and stop electing pinheads who insist on crowding civilization out of the city.

  6. Townsend has been saying he would not run again for the last four elections that I know of. I bet he can't remember how many meals, travel or entertainment expenses he's charged to the city either. Hasn't this guy done enough damage already? He needs to go away and stop lying to us about his voting record on taxes, service fees and spending. Our children will die before the debt is paid that he and his friends racked up. Oh, and who would not tell Laura she should quit now? Maybe that guy who thought it was a bold leadership move on Townsend's part? Who was he, a TI retiree buddy from yesteryear?

  8. That concept of an 'overflowing' kitty because of more water in reservoir backfired at least once; several years ago, we were all SURCHARGED on our water bills because we 'PREPAID" for water from the "district" but did not TAKE all that we'd paid for, so we had to pay a penalty for that!!

    1. We may have paid the bill, but the city got a rebate on the unused chemicals. That has been a practice for many years now. The rebate has ranged from $1.4m to $600k per year.

  9. Townsend appears to be complicit in a cover up over the drainage fund sweeps. His parroting of the city's response to citizen concerns is one of the reasons Texas Sen. Capriglione co-authored HB 280 - "Relating to the information required to be posted by the Texas Water Development Board on the board's Internet website regarding the use of the state water implementation fund for Texas." You can tell Townsend is telling a lie when his lips move. Follow the Bill here: http://bit.ly/1HX3R5q
