Hey, If the City of Richardson Doesn't Take Seriously the Stage 3 Water Restrictions, Why Should the Residents???

Afternoon update: Well!! Learned something new today. It seems some medians are taken care of by surrounding businesses, and this is one of those. And there I went, unfairly blaming city officials. Not the first time, and probably won't be the last time either.

  1. The shortage is real and the flagrant disregard for the law by those who go unpunished is also real.

A few years back, WFAA did a story on a fire hydrant hosed to a gutter that spilled into the creek so Canyon Creek Country Club could water the golf course.

At the same time, the 750 gallon per minute pump for the water well at Sherrill Park broke down and municipal drinking water was being pumped into the ponds so that golf course could live the high life. The money for replacement of that pump was siphoned from the general fund because the golf fund had already been depleted by frivolous spending.

And, all the while, the fountain at the Eisemann Center continued to spray water into the air.

The more things change, the more we see the difference between the rules for those who take the liberty to deny the laws at our cost.

  2. Canyon Creek Country Club coordinated with the city and paid for the water. Don't portray it as an illegal act.

    1. Didn't say it was illegal. But it's pretty clear it's immoral. Don't be so sensitive. It's just a spade. I coordinate with the city and pay for every drop of NTMWD water that flows from my spigot too. I just don't get to starve the neighbors and pump hundreds of thousands of gallons at discount rates down the storm sewer drain to water the grass down stream. Are you serious?

    2. Exactly how did the Country Club Coordinate with the City and pay for it? Lets see some proof back up the claim.

  3. So what if they paid for it? The regional water system is stressed and they are wasting it so people can chase a little white ball around.

  4. I pay for every drop of water I use. I'd rather water the yard on Wednesdays. Saturdays are bath days.

I still don't understand why the Sherrill Park Country Club is in the city’s budget anyways.

  5. Have you been around the Canyon Creek neighborhood lately? Have you checked out the property values? I'm sure people would place the same value on that real estate without a golf course. The increased value has greatly added to the tax valuations helping pay for other resources/services you use. You should thank all of those chasing the little white ball around.

    1. It's truly amazing what goof balls place value on these days. There was a time when low taxes made a town desireable. Now it seems everybody is racing to jack the property values up so they can pay more. If management and council were not so happy to spend tomorrow's revenue, we might have a better town to enjoy. As it is, we have a bunch of smarmy reprobates trying to convince us that the stink is not excrement.
